
The deadline to pay the optional school device technology fee for the 2023-2024 year is Friday, September 1. All students in grades PreK-12 have a Technology Fee of $25 for the full academic year due at the time of registration, or no later than September 1, 2023. This non-refundable fee may be paid online or in person at your child's school. Students who PAY the Technology Fee will receive their first repair free. The second accidental damage in the school year will result in a discounted $40 fee. The full cost of repair will be charged for all subsequent accidental damages during the academic year. If the device is damaged as a result of neglect or abuse, the student will be charged the full repair price. See pg. 14 in the Student 1:1 Handbook for guidelines for Damaged Lost/Stolen equipment. NHS Varsity Girls Tennis tryouts for the 23-24 season will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the NHS Tennis courts. To be eligible to tryout you must have an updated physical on file dated after April 1, 2023. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Scriven at escriven@sdnc.org.

Newberry High School is honored to have Ms. Sarah Harvey, NHS Class of 2002, selected as our new principal. Ms. Harvey has been in education for 15 years, serving as a social studies teacher, coach, assistant principal, and, most recently, Career and Technical Education Director. Ms. Harvey has a Bachelor's Degree from USC - Aiken in Social Studies, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, and an Ed.s. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.

Grades 9-11 Laptop Turn in Deadline is May 30 @ 3:30 PM.
Return your laptop and chargerto your 4th Block teacher after final class or exam.
4th block NCCC Students turn in your devices in person to the NHS Library after final class or exam.
Students may be invoiced for any damages found after turning in devices.


All Seniors return their laptop and charger after the student attends his/her final class or Exam. Turn in your device in person to a library staff member to ensure it is checked in and assessed for damage.
Do not drop off your device at the front desk.


Does your student need their device for the summer? Parent or Guardian signed forms to keep devices for the summer will continue to be accepted until Monday, May 15 for grades 9-11. This form is required to be turned in if your student needs their device over the summer. Please call the school if you have any questions. ELEMENTARY SENIOR WALK
TUESDAY MAY 30, 2023
Class of 2023 Attention Senior Class of 2023 : We are thrilled to invite you to a
Senior Walk at your elementary school. Come join your classmates and
walk the halls of the elementary school you attended. We ask that you
report to the elementary school front office and bring your cap and
gown. Please be own time as the parade of graduates will start
promptly at the times posted here. This is voluntary but the elementary
schools are hoping that you will join them for this special occasion. If
you did not attend one of the local elementary schools, we encourage
and invite you to join one of your friends at a school of your choice.
The staff and students are excited to see you and congratulate you on
your High School Graduation. Boundary Street Elementary walk is at 10:00 AM; Gallman Gators walk is at 10:00 AM; Newberry Elementary walk is at 1:30 PM, and Reuben Elementary is at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30.


Each student in grades 9-11 will have the opportunity to take home their school-issued device over the summer. NHS students in grades 9-11 should have received a form with the information regarding requirements for summer take-home eligibility.
Only students in grades 9-11 wishing to take home their device over the summer should return the signed form to the school. Summer take home forms are due back to the school by Friday, May 12.
All Senior devices will be collected in the library media center by or before Friday May 26.

Semester 2 Seat time Make-ups in May on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:45 in the library. The cost is 10$ per hour (if a student has 12 absences, they would need to sit for 2 hours and pay $20.
