Common Sense Media Curriculum Covered for Bully Prevention Month

October is Bully Prevention Month. In order to help bring awareness about the harmful effects of bullying, MCHS students in grades 9-12 took part in the Common Sense Media Curriculum during the week of October 9th -October 13th. The Common Sense Media Curriculum helps bring awareness regarding cyberbullying and the importance of practicing digital citizenship on the web. The lesson topics were as follows: 9th grade- ", Chatting & Red Flags; 10th grade- "Friendships & Boundaries"; 11th grade- “Online Disinhibition & Cyberbullying”; and 12th grade- "We are Civil Communicators". Overall, students gained awareness regarding appropriate online behavior and maintaining online safety and privacy.
