The swim teams attended both the women's and men's invitational at the Blatt Natatorium in Columbia. This is the same facility that hosts our AAA State Swim meet, so we take advantage of this fast pool as an opportunity to cut time and familiarize ourselves with the high-level competition that shows up. And boy did our swimmers show up too!
The women's division ran from 9:30 AM Warmups to 1:45 PM's final event. There was a total of 27 teams and 268 female swimmers that competed in this session. Results were as follows:
Overall placement 11th - Tied with Blythewood High School
Event 1 - 200 Medley Relay - 40 teams entered
8th place - Sami Curry, Jenna Burge, Kindel Jaeger, and Kaley Burge - They dropped 4.56 seconds besting their best HS time. They are very close to an automatic time in this event, but still have a Consideration time.
Event 3 - 200 Freestyle - 62 swimmers entered
9th Place - Kaley Burge swimming this event for her best time this season with an AUTOMATIC State Qualifying time!
32nd Place - Sami Curry - dropping 6.42 seconds one second to go for a state cut!
51st - Ellis Kemper with a 2.26 second drop

15th - Jenna Burge - AUTOMATIC State qualifying time
16th - Kindel Jaeger with a HUGE drop of 7.15 seconds - BIGGEST drop of the day with a State Consideration time
Event 7 - 50 Freestyle - 110 swimmers entered
11th Place - Kaley Burge with a 0.21 drop besting her AUTOMATIC Qualifying time.

The men's division ran from 2:30 warmups to 5:30 PM end. There were 246 competitors from 27 teams. The bulldogs placed 13th tied with Dutch Fork High School. The results were as follows:
