Mid Carolina High School’s theatre class worked hard preparing for the mock crash on April 13, 2023. Students learned how to do make-up and special effects, including making wounds and imitation blood. Students wrote the script for the pre-crash scene, prepared costumes, and practiced their parts for weeks in advance. The students who participated in the crash scene had to prepare mentally and physically to play their roles, which were very difficult, and at times scary. It took a lot of courage for students to play these roles and to stay in character with the chaos of the “rescue” and the crowd watching. We are all so proud of their hard work and dedication to bringing awareness to the deadly consequences of drinking and driving.
